FDR was established in January 2000 at Chandigarh, under Registration of societies Act of XXI of 1860 and as amended by Punjab Amendment Act 1957. It is promoted by a group of highly trained professionals from different spheres to promote innovative research and training in scientific and social science disciplines supported by field-based data.
Aims
FDR's mission is to conduct scientific and social science innovative research and training:
- To undertake empirical, analytical and descriptive studies in the fields of health, education, industrial environmental and natural sciences
- To promote education and economic development of the minorities through skill development and training programmes
- To conduct marketing research, training, consultancy and technology evaluation
- To promote research on secondary data on cultural identity and traditions, caste and religion and history of different cultures
- To develop economically viable activities for sustainable development
- To conduct need-based impact assessment in corporate and allied sectors
- To organize meetings, lectures, seminars, symposia, conferences on science and social science themes and disseminate their outcomes
- To provide next generation technology.
